22r Oil Galley Plug Questions...
I've got this '86 pickup that's been rebuilt. The machine shop did most of the work putting it together(assembling the bottom end and valve train).
I noticed there's a few holes near the oil pan that aren't plugged and from what I've read they seem to be oil galley holes. It seems there are a couple right outside the oil pan and one inside the oil pan near the oil pickup tube.
I'm in the process of installing an oil pressure gauge to check the oil pressure but the holes on the outside of the pan are
not plugged for sure.
What are these plugs called and where would they be purchased? Someone wrote that the machine shop takes these things out when hot tanking the block but if they haven't replaced 'em should they be liable for damages? They gave me a certificate that garrunteed their work. Your help is much appreciated and I'll let you know what kind of damage or endurance proceeds this problem.

I think they're typical metric plugs. Check over on 4x4 wire, someone posted a photo of where all the plugs should be.
Liable for damages? Depends on who you ask.. You might call your machine shop prior to running the thing to ask if they put them back.

There are 3 galley plugs in the block. 1 in front under timing cover, 1 in back, 1 on bottom in line with oil filter mount. There also is a threaded hole below the oil filter mount on the outside of the block. This is where your oil sender usually goes. The shop that did machice work on my block left out the plug in the pan bellow the filter but put the other 2 in. I freaked when I first cranked it and had no oil pressure. Luckily we had another block sitting there to look at. A few beers later we figured it out and stuck a tywrap down the sending unit hole. When it went all the way down in the pan like a dipstick I felt a lot better. All I had to do was unbolt the motor mounts, raise the engine and drop the pan to put the missing plug back in.

How far do these plugs get threaded in? Just until tight? Flush?
I received my donor block 100% disassembled, so I don't have a reference.
