I've decided to run an electric fuel pump as an assist to my mechanical pump to help the truck get going in the mornings (float has a tendency to drain) and maybe help out a little starting at severe angles.
Done my homework- the theory's well documented. Connected in series, the electric pump can supply fuel to fill a drained float past the mech pump, and there's some folks who've provided explanations to the effect that the mech pump actually acts as a built in regulator for the electric pump.
I've got a little 3 psi pump, and I'm planning on wiring it to a switch on the dash.

My question is, what's the best way to deal with the fuel lines and fittings? My current plan is to mount it under the bed just in front of the fuel tank. I've traced the line back from the 'in' fitting on the mech pump to the tank and there's a nice section of rubber hosing in between steel lines right where I want the pump.
But the pump's got 5/16" fittings. Yota fuel lines are, what, like 1/4"? What's the best way to deal with running a neoprene fuel line between a brass fitting and a steel line of two different sizes?

Toyota lines are 6mm with double flared fittings. Not just anything is going to work.

Mmmhm this is what I'm trying to figure out. I was thinking maybe there'd be a way I could run a 6mm line to some kind of adapter that could get me to the 5/16" lines on either side of the pump, then back down to the 6mm through another adapter. Thinking it through, though, this seems a little shady. Blowing out a 6mm fuel line because it couldn't handle the bottleneck is definitely not in the agenda. Anybody done this mod or have any insight on adapting Yota fuel lines?
