22r coolant pipe behind engine

22r coolant pipe behind engine
engine is 87 22re coverted by p/o to weber
My coolant pipe at the back of my engine has been leaking slowly, now it is leaking a lot more.
It is not leaking on the passanger side(under the manifold) or drivers side(hose from metal pipe to heater core), it is leaking from the back what should I do
I believe the metal pipe has rubbed a small hole into it.
I am thinking about taking a hacksaw to the pipe after it comes out of the manifold and bends and then getting a foot or two of heater hose and running that hose over the engine instead of behind
I know there is a tab that is supposed to bolt the line to the engine so it doesn't vibrate, but that was cut off when I did my head gasket to make things easier. lol
what do you guys think

You could replace the pipe and install it correctly with all retaining hardware. Yea, the hole was created by vibration. If you run heater hose around behind the block you will eventually rub a hole in it. May work as an interim repair but I would not count on it long time.
You could run the heater hose over the top as you described........ again a temporary fix.
I have heard of guys running electrical conduit as a replacement for the coolant pipe. To each his own....
