20R or 22R Clyinder head swap
#1
I've heard that using a 20R head on a 22re brings high compression ratios...
Anybody know the verdict on this and if it's worth doing for a new cylinder head job?

In general, yeah, that's true... with early 22R/RE engines. 85 up engines are somewhat different enough to make converting to the 20R head a lot more involved.

Real time: Lets talk about the 20/22R Hybrid!
Using a 20R Head on an 85-95 22RE Block
I don't recommend that... Might work, who knows. But the compression has to be reduced b/c high top pistons are no longer being used... Then what's the point?
I've heard a cam and header open it up even more...

It's worth doing if you have a 22R and want to bump up the power.
It's the alternative to a head achey EFI transplant and and other stuff like a Turbo.
It's easy, fast and cheap. You also get double row chains and steel guides
