Same on the diff drop, if you find the CVs binding at full droop then a drop kit is needed for sure. If you do not have manual hubs up front and you find the ribs of the CV boots touching and rubbing while you drive, that can cause the boots to wear prematurely, a diff drop will help there and/or install manual hubs. And if you find CV joints failing faster than before, a diff drop can help to extend the CV joint life:

I've seen all this on your website, Roger...I just thought I could get away with the kit I found on ebay, thought it was a really good deal. Toytec...seems like a good name, they're in CO...

Eventually, I'd like to come out to NM before the "tree huggers" shut everything down. I've always had an interest, just not the money. I'd like to experience Moab before I have to experience wearing depends!!

I've been reading the threads on here, and they've got my interest peaked enough I decided to start doing something. Some of the members that look like they really know what they're doing (TC, AxleIke, etc.) say no lift and 33X10.50 tires...but I want my truck to look "hardcore" too.

I appreciate all the good information! Keep it coming!! I've already bought this 2" kit, so I'll probably try it out at least, and my shocks are shot too...so, I gotta do that as well. Might as well do some armor and bumpers.......maybe a winch, some lights, I need one of those baskets, another battery...............you guys got me hooked.

I'm pretty sure the Toytec ball joint spacers are the same 1.5" variety that SDORI makes. When Toytec first was offering the IFS lift kits, they bought the ball joint spacers through me then I think they got the volumes up enough to buy from SDORI directly. Otherwise, they copied the basic design and just changed the height to 2" and have some other shop make them.

if you do the bj spacers, do what you can to limit the extension travel of the wheels. you'll go a long way towards making the cv last longer if you do so.

Like, by relaxing the torsion bars?

I don't want to sound stupid, but...I'm totally new to this. I have always repaired the "family" vehicles, but have never worked on suspension more than changing the airbags on my wife's mark viii over to coilovers. How do you limit the "extension" travel of the wheels?

Fink - That was a sweet looking '95, by the way...almost exactly what I want to do to mine.

Finally got the lift kit yesterday. The bj spacers are 1.5" exactly! You were right (figured).

You know I'll be contacting you more now, right? I'm going to order a 1" body lift from you, and possibly the diff drop kit...dunno about that yet. I'm really low on funds right now, though....hey, is anybody buying a house??? I'll finance you for CHEAP!!!
