2.4 sputtering/rough running at low idle
It happened after I got it stuck mudding, we pushed the engine hard trying to get it out. Started leaking a little oil from the valve cover, and the next day it started running real rough and sputtering at low idle. Always happens when stopped or just coasting in neutral. I replaced the valve cover gasket and pcv which stopped the oil leak but the sputtering hasn't ceased. I'm not sure what the problem is? I checked the plugs and made sure they weren't fouled, no oil in the dist cap, no black or white smoke coming from the tail pipe. Any suggestions on what it could be or what I should check next? My specs are 2.4 with about 235,000 miles, 4x4, manual tranny

Checked the air filter and lines and it's all good. I ran a compression test and all the cylinder's except one averaged around 145-150 psi, my last cylinder read a 120 psi reading. How can I tell if it's bad piston rings, valve seats, or a cracked head gasket, or possibly some other reason for that cylinder's low compression? Also I adjusted my idle up a bit and now it's running much better.
