ok thanks much, value all tech expertise provided on this site.
where is the diagnostic terminals located? in engine bay, near kick panel at fuse box?
Its about 10 degrees out in the driveway today and this weekend up here in VT so I gotta be quick and steady with the hand
tried sandpaper on all battery terminals etc. , disconnecting battery trying to reboot system in the process, valuebut no solution
where to you view the CEL on the dash?
what is the CEL?
what are the corresponding flashes related to AT temp, or Check engine lite, and Brake?
Not well versed in this type diagnostics obviously.
From reading other things on Yoohoo tech, culprit might be faulty alternator, though replaced 14 months ago as same with new battery
maybe try and limp over to Advance Auto and shame a tech to come out in the cold and test ALT output? and also check Batt output though
it was purchased at Walmart.

Depending on year the location can vary.
Rogers page(s) covers most all you will need to know for the timing and code checking.
