1st gen cup holders?

Has anyone found or made any cup holders for a 1st gen 4runner. I am tired of having to hold drinks in between my legs while shifting, or trying to stand it up in the passenger seat. Anyone have any ideas?

I have been going over this for a long time now, trying to come up with diferent ideas or diferent ways to make some cup holders that would work in my 86 4Runner, but so far i havn`t been able to come up with anything that will work and not be in the way of the shifter. So if anybody has any ideas post em up, picture to if you have any.

ill have to get a picture of my little ghetto idea.
but basically,
what ive done is,
taken my fron 41/2 inch speakers, got rid of that stupid center consol, and put my speakers there and well they just sit there, but the magnets on the back of them hold them in place pretty good and you can put the drinks in between the speakers and it keeps the drinks there, no matter what!
ghetto-yes
effective-yes
no more lap spills-yes

I found a cup holder thingy from an autoparts store that sits inside that map pocket on the drivers door. Works better than nothing.

Maps must have been thinner back in the 80's, as ya sure as hell can't fit much of a map in that tiny thin slot.

I guess there are some cup holders that slot into the Window opening that you can get from Car Part stores. I just lift the top of the arm rest / console and wedge my drink in there with a rag until I find em.

Actually, I can fit quite a few road maps in there. Believe it or not they still make maps that you have to unfold...

Because they don't make tape in rolls big enough to hold a 40oz beer???? I know that's my reason for not doing it..........

I got a custom built dual cup holder on e bay. It was designed for a 4 Runner so I modified it (reduced height) for my truck.

If you flip up the rear seats, you can fit a coffee tumbler or pop can between the center console and the rear seat. Stuff a couple of rags/hand towels in there for a better fit.
