I need some help. I have 90 4Runner with a problem. I have had our mechanic at work look at it and he is saying their is a hose coming out of the back of the engine that has a hole in it. No clue which one that may be. Knowing the other problems these engines in this model have had can anyone tell me what hoses come out of the back of this engine. Oh Duh it is a v-6 4 Wheel Drive 4Runner.

Do you have any way to take and post a pic? That may help, as there are MANY hoses coming out of the 3VZE.

what is escaping from the hole? coolant? fuel? muffler bearing lubricant?

 

i think they quit making the muffler bearing lube, you know, since they went to the sealed muffler bearings a couple of years ago.

 

They stopped putting it on 4runners in 1992 I believe.

 

ah, the last eligible recall year.

 

Blinker fluid possibly?
