You got it wrong:
Power of a 4 cylinder, gas mileage of an 8 cyl. (if you're lucky - and if you have an auto tranny, you're not lucky)

LOL Welcome and I too found out, you will get some 'rubs' from some of the older guys on here but overall a gr8 place to learn about the things you can and can't (well maybe) do with your Gen 2 Runner. I have a 95 3.0 with amanual 5 speed and I am currently on a road trip with my tow sons in soCal from Seattle. Had a few minor heating issues (check my thread on the trip) as I installed the Taurus fan mod but I did the airbox mod (drilling holes in the bottom of the air box) and I got an average MPG of 21 so far on the trip here, freeway 60-70 mph, A/C, hills, traffic so I was very pleased with the milage I got. Around town I get 17-18 but like has been stated before, its torque oriented and heavy for a SUV with that size motor. Welcome!!
