1987 Carb 22r 4x4 Manual Ca.- Fix it sharing

Hi all- Got some help a long while back from the forum and thought to return the favor.

Item 1: Electrical issue that led me to get electrical shop help.
Haven't see it in the search so here goes.

There is a listing in the Mitchell manual of a cross-body wiring crimp inside the factory loom,
forward of the battery at the core support. In my case the dash would loose power but I could push start the vehicle and
get power to the coil to keep it running. Mechanic said a FI vehicle would have never run. Drove it home with no dash power.

It is believed that water or battery acid corroded the crimp( I had a picture of green fuzz from the electrical shop).

Item 2; A really weird series of events (pickup, used in agriculture and moving dirt)
Dirt was falling between bed and cab and then onto the gas tank, slides down the top of the gas tank and gets stuck
between the tank and frame rail - not a big deal except..
The brake lines happen to run on top of the frame rail and under certain conditions will corrode.
I thought I had a broken fuel filter( same area on carbed 4x4) but after replacing that and clamps,
started truck and brakes went down and fluid began to seep out from under the truck.

These are 9' long supply and return brake hoses with 3D bends, no longer available.
I had to remove the entire length of the brake line to have new ones made- hydraulic supply near
Fullerton Ca. airport($350)
Item 3. Replace the rear bump stops with Chevy Zq-8 bumpstops ( oe number: 15712438)- They touch a bit but are soft urethane.
The guys at Montclair minitruck were awe struck on the ride improvement from a truck to a more reasonable ride- also helps as proportional spring

Hope this helps another Yota member,

Regards,
Scott
