1987 4Runner Tire carrier problems

Since I bought this the spare has been in the bed. At the very least I am missing the thing that goes through the hole in the tire to hold it to the chain and the bar/ rod that is supposed to lower it. Ive searched everywhere and can't find one that looks like the right shape to fit into that slot. Im not even sure the mechanism that is there works but I cant test it til I get the bar.

Search terms I've used are "tire carrier bar" "tire release tool" "jack tool". Does anyone know what these 2 pieces are called or where to find them?

Or an entirely new mechanism set up all together?

Im missing the piece that holds the tire up.

I need the bar that fits into this slot.

You need a lot more than
"the bar that goes in this slot"
You need a whole rust free spare tire winch unit and an acetylene torch to burn out the old one.
Someone likely cut the tire retaining bar off the chain, because the unit was too corroded to lower the spare when they needed it.

I cant find one. The Toyota website has an error message when I search for anything related to it. Ebay and some other sites have results come up when I put in "1987 4runner tire carrier" or "1st gen 4runner tire carrier" but none of the products shown look anything like what I currently have.

This is what Im finding. Nothing that looks like what I currently have.

You gotta be careful of those peddling parts on amazon and eBay regarding what fits what. They often make broad statements about the application.
I recommend looking up the part number in Amayama.com or EPC-data.com before searching the internet.
the proper part number for your year is 51900-35390.

The one you found is most likely for a Landcruiser and/or a variant, judging by the "60" in the part number. $295 is a bit insane, too.

edit:
Amayama is about $95 for the part, including shipping. And that’s for new oem
