TPS. AFM. Sounds a lot like mine would act.

Hey this is jim that got the tail gate from you.So was it your street or rock crawler that had this problem ? Did you have to replace them or what? Did you finish the crawler? how many 4-runners you have now? I thought about you when I was in T-town 2 times last week. Thanks for the reply .I will check/clean/adjust if possible.

This was on my 85 before I rebuilt the engine...ended up replacing the TPS and the AFM...both were pretty worn out and that solved things.

I have an 85 and an 87. The rockcrawler will never be "finished".

Good luck!

Possible vacuum leak? I've seen them where after everything warmed up and the hoses got soft a leak would develop.
