No... homemade body lifts are generally frowned upon, but I don't see the problem in this case. I mean, it's not gonna be strong like a nice well engineered body lift like wabfab sells, but for a 1 incher, you shouldn't problems.

I really dont want a body lift but cant stand my new tires rubbing i tried cranking the torsion bars up and they still rub . I will buy or make some bj spacers and loosen the torsion bars also. I might not even go to 1 inch maybe just 3/4 or something .

this reminds me of people using hockey pucks. i am not a big fan of body lifts but if it solves a problem, why not. i took the body lift blocks from a trailmaster kit and cut them in half. thus i have a 1.5 inch lift which is not even noticable without looking for it. i did this so i could raise my t-case and motor. my shifters lined right up to the factory boot. what vehicle is this going in, your front bumper will need some modifying, shifter boot may not stretch, you shouldn't have problems in the engine bay other than remembering to disconnect the steering rod. there will be enough play to put it back together as long as you don't go up 2 plus inches. at 1.5" i was fine in my 93 yota. at least get the directions from a kit so you can see all the things that will be effected. gas filler, rear bumper gap, battery ground, radiator hoses, these are just a few more. have fun, nothing is a major issue, just loosen before you lift.
