Thanks! I have read all of your threads about your swap and found them helpful.

I have done the swap before back in '84; I went with the even fire Buick because it does fit and I was able to pick up some used performance part pretty cheap. I do plan on installing Holley FI at a later date.
If I had it to do over again I may have gone with the 4.3. The cost for the Buick was a little high and I now know that there is a lot of info on getting the 4.3 wired up.

The biggest thing I want my 4runner to be in reliable and I know the Buick and it doesn't get any simpler than one wire ignition. Someday I'll join the 21 century.

85 Xtra cab with 33"s too much lift for the wife, but no body lift. Bobbing the rear end when I get home since the back of bed rusted out.

See my sig for details.

Long story short, the first pic is about 4 years ago.I sold it(what a dumbass move,I know) and endded up buying it back from the guy who bought it from me.
I had missed my toy.

Now the project continues and wallet ( wife) isnt all too pleased.
Hey,its MY toy dammit!

The second pic is how I got it back minus the shell.
I hate shells, canopies, toppers or whatever the heck you want to call them.

Time for a paint job!

I just completed a rear axle seal and bearing replacement,it was leaking, brakes, valve adjustment, complete tune up,AC compressor clutch and had a 4 wheel alignment done.
It now growls like it should and runs smooth as silk!!

Im running 45#'s of air in the Revos and now getting 22 mpg in the city as long as I keep my right foot from getting aggressive.

Next is the steering stabilizer and 2" body lift that are still in the boxes.

Its a work in progress and I'll keep posting progress as it happens.

Well I'm deployed right now but my buddy is working on it and I did get a new shipment of parts in not to long ago. Here is what I have..85 4 runner SR5 5-speed 5.29 gears. ARB locker in the back, Detroit trutrack in the front 5inch suspension and 2 inch body, 1.5 greasable shackles in the rear. LCengineering cam, throttle body spacer, header, and k&n cold air intake. hurculined floorboards, all seats redone with marine vinyl (mud comes off great and help the fading factor), 4 point harnesses, custom tube bumpers front and back, shaved 2 inches off the fenders and welded new wheel wells in, no cat flowmaster muffler, PIAA off road lights in the front, MSD 6AL coil, wires, plugs (which shows no difference in performance), 33 10.50 nito mud graplers on 17 inch XD wheels, + some steelies with 35 10.50 and mud terrains on them, clear tails and head and marker lights. and then the stuff that I'm ordering this month=high steer (6 knuckle), 4.7 kit for transfer, sliders for the sides, bikini top kit, I only have old pics of it because like I said (I'm deployed), but planning a wheeling trip in the spring...
