so my 1985 4runner 22re makes a tacking noise at about 3000 rpm and i thought it was the oil running low so i changed the oil but this noise is like the cylinder or sumthing can some one tell me what the heck is it?????

could be anything from the valves clacking, to rod knock

Timing chain? Maybe a worn guide causing the chain to have some slack?
