What is this Sensor

What is this Sensor

I have researched the threads and it seems this sensor is unknown? It's not the coolant temp sensor for the GUAGE, that's between 2 and 3 on the intake manifold.

Looks like the temp sensor. it is at the top of the thermostat housing.

It is a water temperature sensor. I believe its purpose is to shut off the air conditioning if the motor starts to overheat.
