What is this plug?

What is this plug thing next to my fuel door release?

It has 2 wires that connect to it on the back and I dont see it mentioned in the owners manual.

Plug for the factory work light. Had a 2 prong plug (same size as a 120V plug) and a 12 volt bulb in a socket.

Wow $200! When I got my new 4runner last month it had one of these in the back. It was covered in dirt and I thought it was some homemade contraption and threw it out. I feel bad now...

Dude no way! That's crazy! I searched mine all over after I saw that on eBay. It's only worth that if someone paid it. I sure wouldn't!!
I wonder if anything else would plug in there?

Sure you could wire up any 12v device to a wall plug and plug it in??

Sweet 4runner bty. Love the convertible top.

As I understand it, that plug is only for the drop light. I have never seen the drop light. From the two trucks I have seen with that plug, they were fully loaded SR5 trucks. I installed that plug in my truck when I replaced the wiring harness as it came with it. Hoping to find a drop light someday. I want one, but not a $200 one.
