My rough shifting 1985 truck A340H automatic transmission has been diagnosed to have badly worn holes in the separator plate. It is a discontinued part # 35432-35010 and I tried 3 places in Japan with no luck finding one. I found two transmissions in a salvage yard and both plates were as bad or worse than mine. Does any place repair these plates?
BTW, I found a kit for GM transmissions but our Toyota plate is thicker and the Fixzall valve body plate repair kit doesn't fit.

 

Did you check Amayama? It just pulled up for 25 bucks, although once you start the process they double check to make sure they have it but if you didn’t try them give it a shot

 

I did and they found none.

I've found Toyota specialty yards are all the same and want to sell you a complete used A340H. I don't blame them. Issue is, all used 85/86 a340H transmissions have the same wear issue in the valve body separator plate. There are no new replacements plates or repaired plates that I've found.. Luckily the plate is thick, like 10 ga. and I'm having the two wear prone holes plug welded and will re-drill to proper size.
