Transfer Case question

i have a '85 4runner, and the rear output flange has gear oil is leaking out of it. i was wondering if you can just take the flange off and replace the seal without having to take the whole case apart.

yes, you can. Make sure to unstake the nut properly so you don't booger up the threads on the output shaft
