Transfer case cracks

I posted a different thread asking about putting new seals in the out put shafts of my transfer case. From the feed back on that I decided to go to the stealership and order the seals, nuts, and steam pressure clean the under carriage.

When I cleaned up the under carriage I noticed what looks like some stress cracks in the rear output shaft cover. I took some pictures today to post and see what you all think.

The pictures do not show the cracks as pronounced as they look in person.

I have another t case that I could clean up and use if the general thought is that this one is on its last leg.

It could just be the coating on the transfer that is cracked. Or it could just be me worrying to much. But I dont want to install $44.00 worth of seals into a trash t case. I think the other t case is in good shape. It just needs to be cleaned up and new output shaft seals instaled.

Thanks

I would also say they are marks caused by little imperfections it the mold when it was cast.

If they were real honest to goodness cracks they would be weeping oil. For what its worth my Toyota Parts people are great .

Yep, casting marks. Every old Toyota tcase you find will have them all over them inside and out.
