I have a 3 inch body lift and now my truck will shift into 5th but when i take my hand off it pops back out. Is this do to the lift? Please help me. Also let it be noted that the owner before me took apart the shifting mechanisms where they go into the transmission.

 

It is because of the lift. You need to expand the opening of the shifter through the floor board. The shifter isn't being allowed to fully engage into gear and that is why it is popping back out.
