Towing my '84

I just purchased a motorhome and I was thinking of towing my '84 X-cab SR5 but I don't have a clue as to whether or not that would be a good idea. It has a standard trans with auto hubs. If it wouldn't hurt the truck, what would I need outside of a tow bar? Thanks!

for Flat towing from what I found on Marlincrawler.com, the rear driveshaft needs to be disconnected since the transfer case bearings need lubrication and for some reason doesn't proper lube and can destroy the case if flat towed very far. The front shaft doesn't need to be disconnected with transfer case in neutral and hubs unlock so the front shaft is not turning.

just putting the Transfer case in neutral won't work.
I flat towed my old '84 back from NY not knowing I needed to remove the rear DS, I ended up replacing the transfer case a few months later....

--an '84 with Auto Hubs??? that is a new one on me...thought they started in '86...

You will also need a set of magnetic lights and safety chains for the truck just like you would any trailer
