fitting in a single cab

Back to the original question : in my '94 single cab, I fit fine and I'm 6'3" & 275 lb. That being said, getting in proves to be the most difficult part. Since I don't have tilt steering, I have to slide my right leg sideways under the wheel. It's like working a puzzle. Once in, it's plenty comfortable. I made an 10.5-hr trip to Missouri with no discomfort whatsoever, despite being unable to recline. I've never been uncomfortable in my '94.

HOWEVER, I recommend getting an extended cab if you can. I had to scoot the seat forward in my '85, and I can recline now, which is great for taking naps on tiring drives (not while driving ). Plus, the storage room is much greater. OK I'm out.

85 3" running 33's, just to give you an idea what it would look like:

It was like 460$ shipped with shock boots.

As for the original question, my buddy had an 85 single cab and i fit fine at 6'2" (at the time i was 280) and it had buckets

i'm 6'2" ~210 and I fit in them. but fitting isn't the issue, being forced to sit up straight is uncomfortable to me. I lean my seats way back. it's more comfortable to me and that's how I was taught to drive -- to sit as parallel to the ground as I can get. i watched a 6'8" person 'fit' in a miata so really anyone can 'fit' in any car for the most part. just like I could technically 'fit' [torture] people in the rear seats of my x-cab. but what's the point if you don't want to be in it for long periods of time? that's why I don't and never will own a standard cab. I also like the storage space behind the seat in an x-cab or 4runner. just my opinion.

I have a Xtra-cab. I highly recommend spending the extra time looking for one, not only because of the extra leg room, but also because of the extra storage space. I'm a college student so I have to carry alot of books and such and I can't imagine not having the Xtra-cab. The rear seats are basically useless, unless you are alike 3'6", but if you can overlook the point of having useless things in your vehicle, then I highly recommend it.

i took my rear seats out for more space. i put someone back there once. he never wanted to ride with me again. in fact at some point in the trip he decided to sit in the bed of the truck instead

must say my favorite part about having the extra cab, is how much more visablity you have pulling up to an intersection.

oh, and the seats go way back, and you have room for all kinds of stuff

Age plays a part in this too. Until recently, all I've had (for Yotas) were standard cabs. At 19, I never really noticed. At 33, I don't think I'd want to drive a standard cab for more than an hour or so at a time.

I weigh about 10 pounds less than I did at 19, so it isn't the typical "more gut, less hair" scenario, I'm just feeling the pain of every stupid snowmobile accident, football injury, and whatnot.

6'2 195 with long legs. I also like to recline and have my legs as stretched as possible. I wish I could be comfortable in a single cab for long periods of time, and that includes domestic full sized pickups. I sought out the extra cab over single and have absolutely no regrets.

Only disadvantage is longer wheelbase for off road adventures.

The rear seats are basically useless, unless you are alike 3'6",
My twin girls are exactly 3'6, they fit perfectly back there, LOL
