T-case Gasket

I seperated my t-case from my tranny because the bearing was burnt. The large gasket shattered on the way out. I was thinking about using high temperature rtv sealant. The gasket was very large, it seems like it had some sort of purpose like redirecting oil flow. I was told to use rtv and it would be fine but i want a second opinion, as i have only 1 more good t-case. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

I've used RTV for that seal a few times, works fine. There's no reason for there to be oil in that space between the t-case and transmission. If there was when you opened it, that tells you there's a bad seal. Rear transmission output, or front transfer case input seal or both.
