Sr5 Dash Install Issues

I am in the process of installing an SR5 dash cluster in my truck. I think I may have figured out the tach issue (running extra wire) but I have two additional issues. So much for plug and play.

1) I knew before that I would need an oil pressure sending unit to make the gauge work, but I didnt know that if I ran it the way it was it would cause damage. I test drove the truck 2 miles, did I blow the gauge? Is there a way to tell. I dont want to purchase the actual switch if it is too late.

2) The temp gauge is not working. My old one works fine, I plugged it in and it was fine. Any ideas? I may take the dash apart and make sure its not stuck or something else....

Thanks.

Mine was plug and play. It would help if we knew if you had a truck or a 4Runner. If you turned on the ignition then you have blown your oil pressure gauge. The threads warning against this were pretty explicit, don't install the gauge without changing the oil sending unit.

Anyway, I can't help you with the tach other than to say that every 4Runner has been plug and play and some trucks haven't been, depends on year, etc.

Also can't help you with temp gauge...sorry about that. Maybe you should start over with another cluster. They are on ebay all the time.
