I was able to get a few hours work in. 3 hrs yesterday on the lower patch and 4 hrs today on the upper. Working outside temps right at freezing and a 8-12 mph wind (not good for gas shield mig welding).

Upper patch fitted into cut out. This is the most time consuming part. A good friend who does production work says he cuts his patches with a Plazma cutter. Place the patch over the hole and cut both the patch and panel at the same time / same cut. I'm stuck using tin snips and a hand file ~ but it works.

splurged and bought (2) cans of primer. 1 SEM self etching and one Upol weld through. $52.16 OUCH. Not sure they are worth it but I figured I'd give them a try. Just needs to warm up a bit / temps below freezing next few days.

Next up is drivers side front of bed.... Ugggh

.

My 1985 HiLux truck was incomplete / not for sale.... I had only put 380 miles on it.

That did not stop a guy from knocking on my door and throwing money at me until I said yes. . . Still sad about it.

I had to buy a Tacoma to ease the pain. 1996 X-cab 4wd auto 6" suspension lift = 33's
Previous owner had terminal ball joint failure. Partially repaired (failed new hub bearing install / new lower ball joint welded onto bad left knuckle).

So you've sold the gray ex cab? I thought it was an '84.

You've done the best thread of cutting donor panels and welding them. I've not seen better on the Toyota sites I read.

I finally matched my son's money and got something with air bags. A one owner 2000 Ex Cab with the TRD option. The picture showed up at the top of my post.
