softopper top reconditioning?

Hey guys I just picked up an 84 4runner for parts that came with a softopper top that has seen better days. its only got 2 small tears and is messing a few buttons but is super stiff. is there anything I can do to recondition it or soften it up so it is manageable again? any ideas would be appreciated

Leave it out in the sun. A convertable top cleaner/conditioner perhaps.

Thanks bluepile, yeah I read that warming it up will help. Is there any brand of cleaner that you know of or are they all about the same?

I used google and found a cleaner, if I was close to the garage I'd go look and see what I got. I've used stuff from Griots Garage as well.
