Show off your suspension lift
Please show me your 84-85 4Runners and trucks with any amount of suspension lift. Please post pics and list suspension manufacturer, amount of lift, tire and wheel size, how hard/easy it was to install and if you're happy with it the results. Thanks.

I don't have any images on this (sitting in the airport) computer.
I have 85 4runner with 5" skyjacker. It came as a kit with their hydro shocks, all 4 springs, brackets to drop the torque bar, longer bolts for the sway bar. A complete kit, but on the cheap side. I had two problems, one they instructed me to install a 2 degree shim on the front axle, that gave less than a degree of caster , no control, the second was that they sent me 6” springs for the rear ( to compensate for the 4runner top)and it sits ass high even with the top on. It rides well on the road and flex well. I know that there are some higher end spring sets that flex a little better, but for me this is a budget build. I run 12.50 x 33 x 15 mud terrains on 8” m/t classics. I eventually I want to run 37” and that will require slight body modification to get it to fit. I’ll post some pictures tomorrow when I get home.

First with no lift, after putting on 33x12.5x15's with a saggy rear end, i put on 2" blocks to level it up. then me and my buddy fabbed up some shackles from about 3-4" wide by 3/8" thick steel measured out for about 2" of lift. and now pics...
Before:
After shackles, it came out to be about 2 1/4" lift and sitting a little nose low:
Flexed most of the way out:
And at full turn, almost no rub, just a bit on the drivers side (on the part of the steering that drops down from above the frame)
All in all cost me $140 after buying a full set of bearings and paying my buddy a little extra so he'd have enough for new tires on his rig. so not a bad deal!

btw that lift i got only cost aboot $100 and its perty flexy
it was pretty easy to install, gave me about 5" of lift and its on 31's now, the truck can clear 37's as soon as my wallet can
i'm ver happy with the results screw paying 600-1200 on a lift this ones real flexy and strong and i can still put weight in the back of the truck
