Is she worth the money?

I have a 85 sr5 22re 4runner with a factory straight axel and I just locked up the main bearings in the motor. Do I have someone rebuild it, find a used motor, or buy a rebuilt motor. I have money just no time (weird right?) I really don't want to dump a ton into it because I have a new truck also, what are some good options for me guys?

Either rebuild it or buy a rebuilt motor, in my experience used motors are a PITA to deal with and cause more problems.

Where do you live? you could sell it to me for what little money i have and then i could do some work for you to help pay it off.

But in all seriousness I'm going to agree with Alberta4x. It also depends on your budget. Do you have the money to put a new 22re.

I'm in Wisconsin I might sell it but I doubt it, I would need a solid offer. I have the money I just don't know if I can justify a easy $1000 plus labor in a truck that's 26 years old you know? Are there good places to find cheap motors out there?

Yes you can find cheap motors but you know the saying you get what you pay for. My dad paid about $900 for a block and about another $900 in parts so about $1800 all together and now that truck is sitting In the driveway because it drains oil.

You know your truck is the one of most desirable trucks right? Anybody that knows what it is will take that 26 year old truck over a newer vehicle. the way it sits you could probably sell it for 3.5k-4k
