ruf and stock gearbox

I only need 2" to clear 33x10.5 for mud clay climbing. Doesnt need to much flex but want softer ride than my stock with an addtional leaf.if i go ruf that move the axle forward can i still use the stock gearbox?

The stock steering is push-pull and very sensitive to axle location, that's why these trucks get brake steer and bump steer when you take the dogbone off. If you move the axle forward, you'll directly and drastically affect the steering. You could recenter the steering wheel, but you'll still lose steering range in one direction and get too much in the other.

You could shorten the draglink between the gearbox and the J arm, or push the stock steering box up into the core support, but if you're going to go to that effort you might as well just throw crossover steering on and be done with it. You really don't want to be wheeling a lifted truck with the stock J arm anyway, they're known to break when you stress them.
