retrofitting ac out of a 2003 lexus is300
hello everyone my little 22re is finally starting to die after the 360k mark so i got a 2jzge out of a lexus and am swapping the motor over but i realized that i think i could use the ac from the lexus on my truck and i’m just wondering what parts i would need and how hard it would be to fit. my truck doesn’t have ac and never came with it from factory so i’m curious what i would need in the means of parts off a donor.

I swapped a 3.4 out of a 99 4Runner into my 88. I used the compressor and the compressor fittings from the 3.4, the A/C amplifier from the 4Runner and kept the rest of the 88 system. Made new hoses to connect and it's still working. So I would say you should use what's attached to the engine and if the Lexus unit fits in your truck, use it. If not you can get universal parts and make them fit. You'll need the evap unit for inside. A condenser, dryer and hoses/lines. You probably need the amplifier for the Lexus if it uses one. It is what signals the ECM to idle up and turn on fans or clutch depending on the system. If you understand the system, you can probable build one that works.
Good luck with your project and please follow up with your results.
