I have come to the conclusion that I need to make my rear lift blocks for my '90 DLX P/U w/ 3.25" rear springs. My question for everyone is...for the 3" lift block, what angle or what ratio do need to make the taper to keep pinion alignment?

Whatever it takes to keep your pinion angle correct.

You can make them with zero angle if you cut off the spring perches and weld new ones on AFTER rotating axle so you have the correct pinion angle.

I'm not a fan of lift blocks but, that's not what you asked. Good luck with your truck.

 

Yes, I can see where lift blocks are not favored, but for now it all I have the $ for. Eventually I will get some new lifted springs. Thanks.

 

usually the blocks are already angled , I believe it 4* for a 3" block

 

Right, but the problem is that I can not find any 3" blocks for the 3.25" wide springs that have the 3/4" pin. So, I'm going to make my own. Got a friend with a mill, just need to supply the aluminum and he will make them. But 4deg sounds pretty good. I know it may not be exact, but it should be better then not doing anything.

Why not replace with proper springs for the lift you want and better ride quality? Would fabricating a band-aid be less expensive than proper springs?
