Rear Brake Issue

Rear Brake Issue

Just curious if any one have pictures of how the rear brakes are assembled.
Have taken the rear wheel off mine and they do not look right.
Need to reair for state inspection.
Emergency brake inop is what drove this.

You're in luck... a friend and I rebuilt the whole rear end of my '85 4Runner this past weekend and we took photos of the setup before we disassembled it just in case. Here are the photos:

Was that left side shoe off the cylinder cup before or after drum removal?

Before... my seal was destroyed. Made for SUPER CLEAN parts when we cracked the drum!

Better than how I found mine. Caked in solid with oil soaked clay. Lol.

Interesting. Your adjusters are on top, mine are on the bottom.
Wonder if that is way mine are inop.
