quick question on nut that holds yoke on the front

I did about the same, but didn't use the impact when putting the nut back on.

However, the OP is correct and I commend him on wanting to get it done just right.

My rig sees nearly 80% mud, but that's for less than 1000 miles a year (trail only truck).
