power loss in 4th and 5th gear

I had a blown head gasket. After I replaced it I have almost no horsepower in 4th and 5th gear. I redid the replacement of the head gasket just to recheck everything and I found no problems. I still have the problem and I'm out of ideas. The truck had been garage kept for 19 years so every gasket, hose, ect. was in very bad shape and had to be replaced. Any help would be appreciated.
