just something mild like 4.33. I just think you'll regret 31s with a 3in. I have like an inch of lift in my hangers and my 31s have tons of room

Is the spindle count still the same or does it change?

Spindle.. you mean pinion? If so, yes, you change ring and pinion.

If you have 4.10s stock, you wont notice going to 4.30. I would go to 4.56 at least for 33s.

Yea thats what i was afraid of. The ring and pinion. Am do a lil muddin n mild trails nothing to big just want it to look good. But it a good idea to go with 33s. Any idea how it will run on stock 4.10s?

Anyway, rebuilt engine and carb, new header, runs excellent. Needs shocks, some body work, looks like the front springs are practically recurved. Not sure on direction yet, but will be mostly on the road with the occasional trip to the dirt for camping etc. Nothing major. Starting to dig through the build threads to find one to emulate.
Great truck looks pretty good and decent to me needs everything a truck with 30 years old needs

I run 31's at stock height, if you're going through the trouble of lifting it, I'd regear and go to 33's. But I have a buddy running an '85 with lift and 33's with stock gears, its slow but it turns them.

Cheers. And it's turbo diesel as well. Been looking for 2 years for a solid axle diesel... The bonus was the turbo
