Old man emu combinations

Hello
im starting to work on my rig and decided to replace the rear blocks with a real suspention.
i have a front lift from superlift ok..
but the rear i have two stackled blocks on stock leaves.

Kits are a great choice, but almost 30% of the kit i would not use it
because i already have something installed. ( brake lines, shocks , shock hangers , u bolt kit )

then i found OME springs for factory hanger location.
but the highest lift i found for our application its about 2".

Does somebody have a first hand experience with OME and shackle kits to raise the lift ?

EDIT: OME Old man emu springs will bring you about 2" + 5" shackles..probably around 3" lift.
above that, probably the better way its replace the whole suspention for proper application. 4", 5" ...etc.

A lot of that stuff you have on your truck from that lift kit is junk and replacing parts and pieces will end up costing you more in the long run. Suspension parts work together and replacing just some parts won't be what you want. U bolts shouldn't get re-used. Do it once, do it right.

hellfire : are you using these springs? how u like them ?
Like in your signature, you have 2" springs with longer shackels....
what would the the overall height you reached?

waskillywabbit :
i didnt know about the Ubolt...but im going to replace it then.

using a 5.5" or 6" shackle still safe?

I have been running the OME springs on my 85 4runner for about 2 years, the ride has continued to improve with use. I did their entire kit, springs, shackles, shocks, U-bolts. (greasable shackle pins from NWOR). I believe they actually gave me about 3 inches of lift, others have stated the same experience on amount of lift. I run 4.56s with 32x11.50s, the package works very well together IMO

Good luck

Desertgoose, could you please post as many photos as you can of your setup? It's pretty much exactly what I'd like to do with my rig!

How are the 4.56's on the freeway? RPMS at ~70? Thanks so much!!

Sam

Finks on 35's though, yeah? The largest I'll ever run are 32's, that's why I was curious. Thanks though!
