birfs are good so far, i have the steering stops trned in to make sure the tires dont hang up on the springs when turned and that helpes on the birfs alot.

also have the front end open still so that helps, i am expecting to break one some day then replace with birfs.

well i got to take her out around the block the other day and did some snow wheeling on some snowmobile trails and the power was awesome!!! was pushing through hard packed powder in high range!!! the 22r would barely push it down the street in high with the 39.5's and 4.10s!! did have a rad hose fall off and got an oil leak i have to fix, dont think i got to re torque the pan bolts. also finally got the belt for my P/S pump so i wont have to strong arm it any more.

Didn't get any pics yet cause i was by myself but hopefully soon i will get some!!

well took her out for another test run but all i got was this:
http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...deoid=54561935

passenger was too big of a pansie to get out of the truck for too long and film.

turns out my radiator has a crack and needs to be replaced along with being slightly under sized so i am ordering a bigger better one as soon as payday rolls around!!

other than that she ran good P/S worked better than stock with the GM steering box and i was very happy just the little things to fix now!

well got a bigger aluminum radiator sized for a v-8 so i am good at cooling now and fixed a couple of oil leaks and figured out my temp sender, so now that all known bugs are gone we are going out for the turtles first trail run with the new motor on saturday so we will see how it goes and i will take some pics and video of the trip.

now as soon as my taxes come in i am getting some chevy one tons and 6 42" TSL'sd on rims!! going to fab another hanger for the front and new perches in rear and use the sky shackles and brake master adapter and line fittings so stay tuned for the next installment

i am going to keep the toy joints for now cause i think thety will hold up al long as i build some anti wrap bars, we dont have any rocks only mud and swamps up here so i think they will be fine. if they dont hold up i will be swapping in a sm465 and then go to 1410 u joints the toy joints also work as a fuseable link too so you break the u joint before the axles or the tranny t case combo.....lot quicker easier to replace, and the toy joints arent exactly weak...

so got the axles worked on this weekend:

stripped and cleaned up with disc conversion bolted on (brake line adaption to come)

welded axle tubes cause i watched one get spun last week, of coarse that was a 454 with tractor tires, but safe rather than sorry!!! and who knows where this will end up?

hubs and discs with a little pain (i know no spring perches yet but i wanted to get the first coat on before it was under the truck.

complete shaved geared disc braked and welded ready to go in!!!
couple close up vids of the shave:

and the hleper:

well i finally got the 14 bolt setup gear wise, was my first dive into gears but i think it went well, well good enough for a trail truck..... had an issue witha pinion bearing, the on that came in my install kit was the right number but was setting the pinion depth about 40 thou too shallow evee without any shims!!! went to napa to get another bearing and it was visibly higher and when i measured it was exactly 40 thou taller? oh well it is setup. i will try and post pics of the pattern and am going to try and get both axles under the truck this weekend!!!

i got the motor in but stopped on it cause i wanted to be able to cut the old hanger off easier and i got some crazy ideas in my head as to redoing my winch mounting and my bumper so stay tuned.....

yeah i have major ADD!! and it was tax season and i found a good deal so i figured it would be cheaper than 5.29's and longs, prob came out about the same but way sicker looking.

the rear is under it now and i am putting the hubs on the front as we speak so it will be going under this week.

I will post up some pics after i get home, but if you asf 94runnerfan it looks good!!!

i welded the diff (front and rear) and also welded the rear axle tubes on the diff cause i saw some spin the other day under a big block and tractor tires so it made me paranoid.
