hey, i just registered here and i thought ide say hi. i got a 1984 toyta pickup 4x4 sr5 with the 22r(carb) and 5 speed man. tranny. just wanted to know some pros and cons(if there are any lol) on this perticualr truck.i own a 76 celica gt so i know how good toyota 4 bangers are. i have lots of plans for it so ill be posting often. thanks

 

Post some pics of your truck. I'm still pretty new here too, but this is an awesome resource for repairs and mods, and pretty much anything else you can think of. Familiarize yourself with the search function at the top, and I guarantee you can find just about anything you need.

 

Welcome to Yotatech. Good to have another San Diegan on here. We actually (SOCAL) have a great group that seems to do a decent amount of trail runs so you will have to come along.
All out trips usually say Socal in the titles.

o yea... do the junkyards down by brown field(closer to the border) have lots od toyotas in them. im thinking about making a trip down there and pickin up a fender and a few misc parts

 

I spend a couple days out there last week and yeah lot of Toy parts to be had.

there is a good junk yard full of yota 4x4's down here in montclair called california mini trucks. the guy who works there, Troy. is a real cool guy. he also has a sweet 1st gen. pickup. plenty of fenders and any other misc. parts you may need.

does he have a 1st gen runner roll bar by chance? I want to put one in my 3rd gen.

 

do u guys ever see any yota's with the roll bar that goes in the bed for a 2nd gen?? i want put one in my truck for lights and some protection

 

Sure I have seen the aftermarket ones from smitty built and others. Check Performance Products. I think you will find what you ar looking for.

 

i got lucky... the guy gave me one when i picked up the truck along with a new cd player , but the guy felt so bad about not have a yota he bought another 4x4 yota a few days ago lol these truck as awsome. ill get some pics posted asap,
