New project toy.

Shes gonna need alot of work, but I figure ill soon have some time to spend.

Current issues, looks to be coolant in the oil. I changed the oil today so ill keep and eye on that.

When coming to a stop and hitting the brakes the idle drops too low and wants to cut out. If you notices in the pictures the black tube that's cracked really bad, i think that might have something to do with it.

Also when you shift it seems to rev up during shift.

And clutch also seems to be a little finicky.

But all in all im glad i have her, she is what im driving while i wait to get the 4runner fixed.

As for the brake thing, I had a similar problem on my 1977. To figure out the problem, disconnect the vacuum line going to the brake booster (right behind the mc) and plug it. Then attempt to brake. If it doesen't slow down, but the brakes are harder to push, the booster is bad. If it still does it, look elsewhere. If it is still goes down easy, you probably need new brakes or have a strong leg

I had to replace my booster and I think i got one for $10 at pick-a-part.

haha sweet floor mats!!!

Seriously, thats a cool truck. I have an 84 xcab, yay for 22R! The flatbed thing is pretty cool. I dunno if you're looking at beds or not, but the flatbed look is pretty sick.

True true...

but pop a tent on the back while you're camping and you're not sleeping in the mud like you're friends.

Makes a great stage.

Its easier to get on if you need to pass out (from what, you be the judge).

You can put more crap back there.

Its not like you can dent a flatbed.

Pull off the side of the trail and establish a roller disco.

Did I mention its easier to lay down on if you're about to pass out?

I really like the bed, get a lot of compliments on it. I found the vacuum leak today, so it idles way better now :> Checked the oil today, seems to have a smell of coolant, gonna wait a couple days and check again.

Headgasket? Very common... Make sure you keep us up on the status, I'm very interested in what you end up doing with it.

nice truck i personally dont like the look of the bed but the rest of it looks real nice. its the same color as my 84 extra cab but the paint on yours is way better. wish mine looked like that. minus the bed. good luck with your project i hope the engine problems are not too bad.
