Needing A Screw
Mine are missing . . . from my rear view mirror. Perhaps I should explain . . .
My ’84 came with a pitted and cracked windshield, which will be replaced. But a PO had mounted a rear view mirror to said windshield, the original is MiA. I now have a stock mirror – but no screws. I’ve been to the local ACE 2 times now but got close but wrong threads. I don’t have a spare screw that fits properly to use as a sample.
The closest has been an M6 1.0 but it didn’t work. Is this possibly some sort of JIS screw? Technically I’m asking for a proper screw. Anyone?

Is this a screw or is it a bolt??
Screws have the smaller threads on the front while bolts have the same size threads .
Which I am sure you know
Now I have seen both used in different applications on Toyota vehicles
Was the M6 to big ??
Maybe a M5 or M4
I will check mine when it gets light out

Is this a screw or is it a bolt?? From what I can see of the threads on the cab it looks like it should be a bolt, but I can't swear to it.
Was the M6 to big ?? M5 is too small, M6 seemed like right diameter but the threads were wrong.
I will check mine when it gets light out Thank you

Mine was a 8/86 Production date.
Did things change who knows .Maybe some one with your year will jump in
Mine are for sure M6x1.00 it went on a M6x1.00 nut with no problem.
Did someone else force a1/4" /20 thinking it was the correct size??
Maybe the ones you got from Ace were in the wrong bin it seems to happen quite often in these parts
I really should have thought to cover the transmission before I dropped one bolt into it .

Did someone else force a 1/4" /20 thinking it was the correct size?? That wouldn't surprise me considering some of the other stuff I've found
Maybe the ones you got from Ace were in the wrong bin it seems to happen quite often in these parts Could be its happened here
I really should have thought to cover the transmission before I dropped one bolt into it. Oopps, sorry. I've done similar before and it sucks. I appreciate the help.
