Mystery bracket--where does it go?

Ok im trying to put my engine back together and im drawing a blank on what this bracket goes too... i have P/s ,NO a/c,smog pump and alternator are the accesory i have. if u could tell me what it is i could continue my project. thanks

it goes to the altonator some where im not sure where but im in the same boat with u or it goes somewhere around there i know that

thanks guys... just torqued down the head and im starting the some-what nightmare of pluggin everything in and connect all the vaccum lines and remembering all the little stuff which is the most important. gonna get it running tommarow ill post up some pics of the engine when im done with it.

That bracket is a pita. Look at it carefully and you'll figure it out.

actually its a support for your Power steering pump .
you can kinda see it here . wraps under the water pipe outlet on the timing chain cover .




I would put it on .

LOL, That bracket took me 30 minutes to figure it out AND i knew where it attached!!!! Just couldn't figure out how!!!

Toyota put it in there for a reason, put it back in... no doubt.

OK the first day of running it(yesterday) on the road it ran pretty good for not fine tuning the timing and valves yet. Then later that day i go to start it and now whenever i start it it starts then barley idles for a second maybe then dies. If i hold up the rpm it will run soons as i let go its liek somone turned off the key. if i rev a little bit and hold up the rpm for a little bit it will idle and run liek it should. im thinking maybe a choke problem or something clogged in my carb(has a couple month old gas mixed with some new stuff). should i try cleaning out the carb? timing is at 0 so it should at least run that way. best part of the rebuild NO LEAKS
