My new 85

What's up everyone. Been lurking here for a little while and figured I'd introduce myself. A few weeks ago I traded my 73 C-10 straight across for this '85. Has a carb'd 22r, 5 speed with about 313,000 miles. The head and carb were rebuilt a while ago by the PO. So far all I've done is rebuild the drag link, fit a set of cheap 31s to replace the tired 30s, and I sold the camper shell for cheap. Definitely need to do something about the tired stock seat. Right now it's my daily for when I don't feel like riding my Triumph. Eventually I'd like to fit some sort of rear locker to it, and I'm debating what to do with the 22r to make the truck happier on steep inclines. But for now it does well and my dog digs it.

The next time you are coming north to wheel, let me know so my 85 Xtra-Cab can hang with your 85 standard cab in the dirt, rocks or hills.

BTW, eBay has halfway decent cheapo racing seats for about a buck and a quarter delivered and they are only coming from a local seller in Corona so you don't have to wait long.

I don't have a passenger seat in my rig, that way I don't have to take a passenger, not even my wife. 😋

I think my dog would have something to say about me converting the truck to a single seater. If he could talk.

Nowhere is suitable for wheeling in the SFV, I have to leave town for Gorman or the high desert.

Anyone have any recommendations for good shocks? I'm considering ordering Rough Country N2.0s cause I think my current shocks are pretty beat. Also looking into doing 63" Chevy rear leaf springs.
