Lateral rear-shocks?

A guy with a 94 ext. cab had lateral shocks on the rear end...

Don't remember exactly where the were... but it looked cool.

What do they do? Who makes a kit?

I might be wrong, but I think you are referring to a "kicker" shock kit that Rancho used to make, they were supposed to help with traction by preventing leaf spring wrap-up.
Personally I think they were only for looks and didn't do squat!

I liked them ... had them on my /80 w/ 7" lift .

buddy had the traction bars .. and they were harch ! .. absolutly NO give . I had the "kickers" .. and they afforded me some give . WAYYYY better .

I think it all has to do with the driving you do .. mostly mud here , this is what we did , but down south , you guys seem to be into the rocks ..
