Hello! Been browsing Yotatech for seven years or so, however this is my first post.
I've searched and read through many posts regarding inclinometer installs. I know I'll need to trim the plastic housing to get it to sit level in the depression in the dash pad, however it looks like I'll have to trim about an inch and a half off the back & sides! My concern is that I'm not sure there is enough to trim before the bottom of the box housing the mechanicals is touching the dash pad.
In the pic I'm holding the inclinometer so that the right gauge is sitting at 0°. There is about 1.5" between the top of the dash pad and the underside of the round lip on the gauge (not the slanted bit; I know that needs trimming away as well).
For reference, the truck is an '85 Pickup SR5 and the inclinometer is from a RHD Landcruiser (don't know which series).
Just looking for input from others who have done this. Preferably the same inclinometer onto a 2nd gen Pickup or 1st gen 4Runner before I start cutting and making irreversible changes. Thanks! Dash pad for reference Bit of a better angle

That is the inclinometer for the second gen 4Runner, the "third" version.
You want the inclinometer for a second gen pickup/first gen 4Runner that came with the big "pocket" in the dash. The inclinometer "first" version, its housing is different.
The other version, the one I have, is the inclinometer for a second gen pickup/first gen 4Runner that came with the small "pocket" in the dash.
But I am sure you know that.
Hmm... I was worried about that. I just found this one locally for a steal of a deal so I jumped on it. I must admit I like the look of the older boxier "4x4" variant and it matches the rest of the truck. Wondering now if I could find someone who'd want to trade.
