inclineometer
ive done a search and cant seem to find anything that relates specifically to installing an inclineometer to a truck that didnt have the option installed.
what i want to know is, how do i drill the holes into the dash-pad in order to mount the inclineometer? are there mounts already underneth the pad and the pad itself just has to be drilled?
also, is there a factory wiring harness that is already there for the inclineometer so i just plug it in??

Feel under the dash to see if there are mounting points, if not, no big deal. Might have the light wiring there already. If not, see below:

if you look on the underside of the dash pad you will see 4 foamy circles that are there from the factory. The inclinometer may have bolts and nuts but if it doesnt it shouldnt be too hard to find some. it comes with 2 wires, one for a ground that you can put anywhere, the other is the power for the lights. Tap the power wire in with a wire that goes to a function that lights up when you turn on your lights (i.e. the AC controls).

thx for the info guys... the mounting doesnt seem hard at all... the wiring im not so confident with. reason being is because im looking at an inclineometer that has 2 double receptical plug-ins.
looks like it has been spliced upon closer inspection from 2 original wires. i assume this is the factory wiring, 1 is ground and the other is for a light that i can splice into the dash somewhere. correct?

just scored a cluster display and inclineometer from ebay. woohoo. also scored the dashpad that the inclineometer came off of since mine was cracked terrible compared to the 2 cracks the new one has and is repairable. already blew $245 on just 3 parts for the interior... havent even overhauled the rest of the interior yet... ouch!
any ideas on where i can get new foam inserts for my bench seats? i'd rather keep the bench seats instead of going to buckets.

FYI, there is a factory harness that plugs between the temp lights, and the inclinometer. Wish I still had the packaging from the wiring I bought from the dealer.
More FYI, i was told fromt the dealer I purchased the last NEW factory harness in the country. Dont know if this is accurate or not. Either way, that harness makes the inclinometer plug and play, and SOO much nicer than splicing wiring.

if u want an inclinometer that came out of a Surf/4runner let me know, most of the gasoline Surfs here have them in them, and there are a million in the junkyard. i can get them cheap and ship it to u.

Actually I just want the "cover" part.
Dont need the inclinometer part.
Want to use it for aftermarket instruments and maye a radio "head" (aka Ham).
Grey please
Need TWO covers as I'll cut em up to make a "loong" one
