IFS steering box mount
http://www.marlincrawler.com/htm/steering.htm
there are two different mounts. one says mounting plate that comes with hardware and top cap. the other its a top cap and two bolts and tubes. it looks like the 'mounting plate' one has everything the cheaper one does but comes with that plate for added strength. just want to make sure beacuse im going hy steer and i need to make sure i get everything.

yep, save yourself some work and/or heartache by plating your frame. i only sleeved mine but i dirve like an old woman, and haven't had any problems yet. i'm going to build a brace eventually, though.

got it man. the 59 dollar one comes with the tubes, bolts, two plates (one for each side of the frame), and a top thingie for more reinforcement.
its all you need. and right now my truck sits at calmini getting my shiny crossover steering put on. its going to be so beautiful

what year ifs box would i need? the reason i ask is it seems that 89 and up are easy to find at parts stores new or reman and pre 89 boxes are alot harder to find at the parts stores but easier and a heluva lot cheaper at salvage yards than the 89-up. if the truck is ifs arent the boxes the same? if they are different, how ? im just trying to save a little cash to convert my 84 4wd to crossover with ps. if i can use the pre 89 box it will save me alot as i can get one for 50 bux in good shape. the post 88 box is a different part number but do you guys know if it matters which one? ive read this before but i forget and im looking for a quick answer .... thanks in advance
