Hitch receiver for gen5 pickup?

Checking the usual places I’m finding nothing at all. Are these hard to come by?

Last time I checked I didn’t find anything and got one from a junkyard. This was in 2014..I would imagine you can find one from a part out or a yard other than that I doubt anyone makes them anymore But yes, it might be some work to find one.

will earlier or later gen parts work? Is there a table of part interchangeability somewhere? I guess that’s a broader question that’s been answered here before, but I’d have no idea how to search that.

What do you consider a 5th gen? 89-95?

Looks like rock auto has the Curt adjustable hitch..

Was going to ask the same, other posts it seems you have an 85, and we are in the 84-85 forum. What exactly are you working on

It’s an 85. Thanks for the info. I might go with that curt unit if I can’t find a Toyota one.

I bought this 85 reg cab carb king bed 4WD 8 ago from the original owner. I’m one of those guys trying to go “all stock”.

The vhr showed that he’d only driven it a few hundred miles each year, and it had really low miles on the odo. Nothing else about it matched that mileage (very worn interior), but the chassis was rust free and it ran strong so I bought it and loved it.

During the pandemic it was stolen out of my garage on camera. Long story short I found it myself 2 years later. Some poor mark had bought it from the thief who had swapped its vin with that of an 86 ex cab short bed 2wd. DMV gave him plates ans reg. The way I identified it was the spare tire was still the original wagon wheel I had powder coated white, and tires I still had receipts and stickers for. The rest had been swapped.

the police kept it for 6 months (much more to that story) but gave it back finally. I’ve been trying for 2 years to get an appointment with the highway patrol to get new vin badges matching my title so I can plate it and register it and drive it. Meanwhile, the police see a plateless truck driving around and don’t want to bother with me. It’s like they already know the story. Probably helps that the wax marker is still on the back window from their tow yard, and these trucks are often stolen out here.

Still, I want to finally give it the attention it deserves. I never did any work to it beyond basic maintenance. It needs some love. It’s burning oil like a mofo these days.

Couldn't find one here also, so I made my own. Going with the normal size receiver I found out was a little over kill as the truck is only rated to tow a 2000-2500 lb trailer. Here are a few pics
