Speaking of Clutch Master Cylinder,

I've replaced my clutch master cylinder with a Wagner and never had a problem. That was a few years ago when Wadner parts were still made in USA. If it's made in China now, keep looking. I have not found any Chineese part that lasts more then a month or two and thats if it was good to begin with.

 

I used to keep a rebuild kit for both the master and slave cylinders but found that most of the time the cylinder bores are so pitted they are not worth rebuilding . they will work but no telling how long

i have used many different brands from Napa to what the independent auto parts was selling.

They all work they all wear out i think the fact we all sort of just forget about them till they fail .

The fluid needs to be changed just like the brakes.

Yes, pitted wall is my concern; don't wanna spend time taking thing the thing apart only to have to wait for whole replacement, anyway. I found a brand-new (Taiwan!) one from OReilly's for $20 with lifetime warranty so I'll give this a try. Really wanted the Aisin but too pricey.

Yes, current fluid is way too dark. To help make sure most of the old fluid is purged, I'll disconnect from the slave cylinder and purge with new fluid before reconnecting to slave. Then, I'll bleed the whole system.
